Why coming home matters

Rooted in a campus by the sea.

Silliman began on August 28, 1901 with 15 students, became a university in 1938, and was declared a National Landmark in 2002. Its 62-hectare campus—shaded by more than 300 acacia trees—still holds the “Silliman Spirit” of closeness, friendship, service, character, competence, and faith.

Between reunion events

Rediscover Dumaguete

Dumaguete rewards an unhurried pace. Keep city walks flexible, reserve island and dive trips early, and leave space for accidental reunions over coffee.

Where to eat

Save room for Duma.

These are practical reunion picks, not paid placements. Call ahead for large groups and verify current hours before going.

After dark

One good night out.

Start where conversation is easy, then decide how lively the batch wants the night to become.

Explore Dumaguete nightlife

Boulevard warm-up

Sunset, dinner, and an easy first round along Rizal Boulevard.

Hayahay live set

Choose this for music, sea air, and conversation that can still be heard.

Escaño bar loop

Tiki, Hyde, and nearby spots are the livelier option. Check the night’s program, opening hours, and cover charge first.

Go as a group, arrange a safe ride back, and never leave a batchmate behind.

Getting around

Sibulan Airport is a short drive from central Dumaguete; the seaport sits beside the downtown waterfront. Tricycles work well in the city. Ask your hotel or resort to arrange airport and Dauin transfers, especially for groups and luggage.
